Christmas starts early at Omokoroa Country Estate

Welcome to our Christmas series, where we take a look at what retirement villages around New Zealand have planned for the festive season. Here’s how Omokoroa Country Estate is enjoying the holiday.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year at Omokoroa Country Estate and festivities start early!

In the lead-up to the big day, our Christmas Elves (aka residents) decorate the village centre with two trees and lights. They also deliver sweets from a golf buggy while blasting Christmas tunes.

Another highlight of the celebrations is the Resident’s Christmas. Hosted by staff, it involves delicious food, a present game, and a performance by the OCE Choir (aka the staff). The choir performs a song written about the village.

On Christmas Day, there’s a special Christmas lunch for residents featuring delicious fresh food, including the much looked forward to glazed ham.

The village feels peaceful and calm at this time of year, with many residents spending quality time with loved ones. The gardens are always glorious, too. The OCE community is looking forward to another wonderful holiday season.
