Located on more than 31 acres of prime land in Te Awamutu, Whai Mauri Ora | In Pursuit of Wellbeing will reflect the needs and desires of residents.
The Whai Mauri Ora community will be developed in stages over several years. Once complete, it will include approximately 180 villas, a care centre with apartments and care suites, and exceptional shared facilities for entertainment, fitness and socialising. The specialised centre for aged care will reflect our Attitude of Living Well philosophy, which focuses on resident-led care that helps each resident to live their best life. The community’s design will maximise the feeling of open space and offer wonderful views towards Mt Pirongia and Mt Kakepuku.
The site for Whai Mauri Ora was blessed by Ngāti Apakura elders before work commenced. The elders placed a Mauri stone during a ceremony that is reserved only for buildings of significance. The name Whai Mauri Ora, gifted to us by Ngāti Apakura, means ‘in pursuit of wellbeing’. It ties perfectly to our Attitude of Living Well philosophy, which focuses on every aspect of good health and wellbeing.
