These additional benefits are fully optional and incur a weekly charge called a care accommodation supplement.
METLIFECARE – SUPPORTING YOUR CARE JOURNEY
We get to know every resident as an individual, understanding their likes, dislikes and preferences, so we can treat them with dignity and respect – always
We develop close relationships with family members, so they stay involved in decision-making for their loved ones. Family members are always welcome and encouraged to celebrate occasions and meals with their loved ones.
Residents have a room of their own and, in most cases, an ensuite bathroom. They have access to a recreation room, hairdressers, dining room and shared kitchen.
Residents have access to 24-hour care and onsite support with a nurse manager and team of registered nurses and trained caregivers.
Local doctors visit our care homes weekly and as needed.
Meals are an important part of the day. We provide nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea, which our residents love.
Cleaning and laundry services are provided.
WHY METLIFECARE?
* 96% resident satisfaction with care home staff
* All Metlifecare care homes have the gold standard 3 or 4 year Ministry of Health certification
Residents often move into care homes when their medical, physical and cognitive needs require a greater level of care.
Care homes can have different names – rest homes, residential care homes, or senior home care, for example.
Metlifecare care homes offer the highest level of personal and medical care to residents, with trained teams of caregivers and registered nurses on hand to offer support 24/7.
Most of our Metlifecare villages have a care home onsite or nearby. If our independent or assisted living residents need to move into a care home, they take priority over people not currently living in a Metlifecare village, helping us to ensure a strong continuum of care for our residents.
