Rest Homes Nelson/Tasman
You’ll find rest homes throughout the Nelson/Tasman region. These are situated in the suburbs of Nelson, including Stoke, as well as in the wider Tasman area.
Nelson offers a range of residential care options, depending on the required level of care. A needs assessment will determine this level of care. Then, you can use the filters on our search pages to find the rest homes which suit your needs.
The region has locally owned rest homes as well as many of the larger providers like Ryman Healthcare, Summerset and Oceania.
Residential Care Subsidy
The New Zealand government offers a residential care subsidy to help cover rest home costs. For those who are eligible, the amount of support you can receive depends on your income and assets.
Whether you are eligible for the subsidy depends on age, financial status, whether your chosen rest home is contracted to the DHB and whether you have completed a needs assessment.
